38th chat and eat night at the cove cafe

Wow where to begin, I can't take any credit firstly for the wonderful weather we had last night. The scenery speaks for itself. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the space indoors and out at the Cove Cafe in Phillack, Hayle.

Thank you to Chef/ Proprietor Rupert Cooper, Chef Matt and their incredible front of house team Molly, Holly and Lexi and Vin who was in the kitchen for another wonderful collaboration together. You looked after us all so attentively.

The Menu we enjoyed was 3 courses

TO START

- Smoked mackerel pate, sourdough, and pickled onions

- Cumin-roasted beetroot and whipped feta dip

- Truffle oil asparagus with pangrattato

MAIN EVENT

- Smoked Za'atar and lemon chicken, creamy polenta, and roasted red pepper salsa

Or

Braised Italian style hispi cabbage (V & VG)

DESSERT

- Summer raspberry and lime cake, lemon and Tonka bean whipped cream.

The food was excellent delicate starters, I could have happily hidden in a corner and eaten an entire plate of the Mackerel Pate all to myself it was wonderful. The chicken was smoked to perfection and the polenta was the best I have ever eaten. People on my table agreed. It was like a pap in South Africa that my Gogo used to make us but more sophisticated and the red pepper topping was very tasty. Every element was superb.

Thank you to everyone that made the effort and came and joined us for a spectacular evening. I really do appreciate everyone's support. It was lovely seeing a nice mix of old friends and new faces.
