Frequently Asked Questions

  • Potluck Cornwall is all about people, food, and connection. It’s a place to meet new people, enjoy amazing food together, and support local independents.
It also gives local food businesses and private hosts a chance to welcome new diners who might not have discovered them otherwise.

I create different food and drink experiences, inviting people to come along, try something new, and share it together.

  • Absolutely - my events are for everyone.

There’s always a lovely mix of people: many arrive on their own, some with partners, and others in small groups, but once we’re together, it’s one shared table and one community.

If you’re booking a ticket just for yourself, please don’t worry about being left alone (I usually come solo too). I make a point of welcoming everyone and thoughtfully seating guests together, so there’s always someone to talk to and connect with.

My hope is that these gatherings spark new friendships, and that when you return, you’ll begin to recognise familiar faces and feel part of something special.

Because food tastes better when it’s shared, and nobody should have to eat alone.

  • Never.

Potluck Cornwall is for everyone. Our guests range from their mid 20s to 75+, from all walks of life. United by good food, good conversation, and a love of shared experiences.

  • - Friendly ice-breakers to get the conversations flowing
    - The chance to try dishes you might not normally order
    - Hear from a local guest speaker
    - A fun table quiz

And most importantly, in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where it’s easy to meet new people and leave with new friends in tow.

If you love great food, connecting with like-minded people, and discovering exciting new places to eat, then a Chat and Eat Night is the one for you.

  • A Supper Club is a shared dining experience, usually hosted in the home of a passionate and accomplished cook. The food is thoughtfully prepared and of a very high quality, offering something truly special and personal.

Guests typically don’t know each other beforehand and are seated together around one table, sharing dishes family-style. It’s warm, social, and intimate, very different from a traditional restaurant experience, and more like being welcomed into someone’s home for dinner.

  • Not at all. Everyone is welcome. If cooking isn’t your thing but you’d still love to join, you’re more than welcome to bring a shop-bought dish (just please include an ingredients list), or simply bring a bottle to share.

Potluck Cornwall is about community and connection - not culinary skill, and everyone’s contribution, big or small, is valued. or just bring a bottle to share.

  • Tickets are non-refundable, similar to a concert, unless you provide at least 48 hours’ notice (2 days) before the event.

Most of the venues we collaborate with are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements — just let us know in advance.

    • Chat & Eat nights: There are no fixed seating plans. You can take a seat wherever you like, and you will always be seated next to someone.

    • Events with a set 2- or 3-course menu: A seating plan is created. If you would like to be seated with someone not included in your booking, please let us know by replying to your booking confirmation email at least 4 days before the event.

We aim to make every event welcoming, social, and enjoyable for all guests.

  • Yes, I am happy to allow this as long as payment is made 1 week before the event date.

  • I understand that finding childcare isn’t always easy, I face the same challenge myself! Children are welcome at my Chat & Eat Luncheons and Chat and Eat Nights unless otherwise stated.

  • It all depends on the venue capacity. Our events have ranged from 12 people round 1 table at supper clubs to 50 people in a restaurant to 150 at a Big Lunch.

  • No, Potluck Cornwall is about community, food, and connection, not matchmaking. That said, if genuine connections grow organically, that’s something to celebrate.
