44th Chat and Eat Night at Upperdeck Falmouth
What an incredible evening it was on Wednesday night at UpperDeck Falmouth, where 26 strangers came together for our 44th Chat & Eat Night. The atmosphere was vibrant, the food was exquisite, and the company—unforgettable.
The menu created by Chef Sam Tomlinson was nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in an Indian Spiced Malabar Curry packed with mussels, monkfish, prawns, sugar snap peas, and heritage tomatoes. For our vegetarian guests, they enjoyed a Soul Farm Roasted Vegetable curry, with the same fresh sugar snap peas and heritage tomatoes. Every table shared aromatic rice and flatbreads, bringing everyone closer as they tore into the flavours.
One guest said, "This is the best curry I've ever had in Cornwall!" The dish wasn’t spicy in heat—it was fragrant, the delicate spice stole the show. Every bite was sublime and those prawns were so juicy and sweet.
Thank you to Liam Matthews from Knightor Winery for joining us as our guest speaker. Your insights into local winemaking added a special touch to an already perfect night and we ended with a Dessert Sunset. This delightful creation featured sumac and mango marmalade, oat crème fraîche, almond milk granita, almond brittle, and crushed pistachios. A beautiful, layered end to a sensational meal, thank you Chef, Tash. I also want to say a huge thank you to Marc, Sennen and Joey for looking after us.
