Farm Feast Supper with Earth and Soul Kitchens

On Saturday, we were lucky enough to host the most beautiful rustic farm feast in collaboration with the wonderful Nina Peters at Earth & Soul in St Columb Major and honestly, if you missed this one, you really missed out.

The evening started off for a couple of the diners with an oil infused workshop with Alamayah from Radically Rooted Care before sitting down to feast.

Every guest got to taste everything on the menu, regardless of the pre orders, no-one missed out, it was just one long table of sharing plates. Swallows swooped overhead, the cows watched from the next field, and the warm evening air made it feel extra special, alfresco dining, done right.

The food was a real celebration of the season’s bounty. From fresh, zingy starters and charred greens to generous platters of BBQ'd Cornish Sardines, free-range Chicken glazed with Elderflower, and vibrant veggie dishes, every mouthful was a reminder of how good simple, seasonal cooking can be.

Here’s what Nina served up:

To Start

Smoked Cornish Mackerel Pâté with fresh dill and pickled rhubarb

Heirloom Tomato & Strawberry Salad with balsamic and basil

Charred Asparagus with lemon-hazelnut dukkha and chive oil

Beetroot Carpaccio with orange, rocket and crushed pistachios

From the Grill & Garden

Grilled Cornish Sardines with caper relish, heirloom tomato salad and pickled onions

Free-range Chicken Thighs glazed with elderflower, served with summer lettuce wraps

~Grilled Vegetable Tagine with chickpeas and sweet apricots, summer Ratatouille with white bean purée and fennel oil.

Sides

~Apple, fennel & sorrel slaw

~New potato & lovage salad

~Roasted beetroot

~Couscous with sumac yogurt

To end a generous grazing plate

~Fresh summer berries and poached stone fruits

~Elderflower & berry compote

~Dark chocolate shards with sea salt

~Spiced orange-zest nuts

Finished with fresh mint and edible flowers

It was one of those evenings you wish you could bottle up. Good food, good people, and that golden countryside glow that makes you so grateful to live in Cornwall.

Nina, thank you for pouring so much love and care onto those plates. It was a truly unforgettable evening.

Here’s to many more magical evenings around the table, see you at the next feast
