Supper Club with Alan Rosenthal
Last week in Falmouth, we experienced a supper club so good that one guest called it the best she’s ever been to and that it was a nostalgic nod to their time in France.
I was proud to support and collaborate with chef, food writer, and author Alan Rosenthal in bringing his special supper clubs to Cornwall. Held in his private home, the evening was as warm and welcoming as it was delicious, with Alan guiding guests through each course and the cooking techniques behind them.
The night began with a Classic Cuvée Brut from Knightor Winery, poured over Alan’s bramble syrup, a pairing that set the tone perfectly.
Alongside it, guests enjoyed a light fritter topped with guacamole and tomato salsa.
Then came the courses, each one building on the last:
Home-baked focaccia with the most moreish Date butter.
Roast heritage Pasha's pumpkin velouté with sage brown butter and a Cornish crab croqueta, simply sublime.
Followed by a Cornish cheese course with sloe and crabapple jellies, plus crackers so crunchy they became a talking point around the table.
And finally, a choux bun filled with Kea plum and star anise crème diplomate.
A huge thank you to Alan for creating such an unforgettable menu and for welcoming us so warmly into his home. And of course, thank you to the 11 wonderful diners who joined us around the table, your energy, conversation, and enthusiasm made the night truly special.
We can’t wait to do it all again (with a different menu) on 24th October
